Spot Registration
Required unless already an existing Spot by Netapp User Sign-up to the Spot platform through the sign-up page. This will provide you with a free trial account with up to 20 Virtual Machines.
Once you log into your Spot console, we will connect your AWS account. This will create an AWS IAM Role & Policy within your account. These permissions allow Spot by Netapp to both read and launch infrastructure within your account.
Prior to beginning your Spot account connection, log into your AWS account before starting these steps. Then navigate back to the Spot console to proceed.
Select AWS as your Cloud Provider
Then select “Linked Account”
Then select “Automatically” connect your account to utilize Cloudformation’s automated provisioning process.
Then select “No” when prompted “Are you trying to connect to an AWS GovCloud or China account?”
Then Select “Default Permissions” and “Run IAM Template”
This will redirect you back to the AWS console and launch a cloudformation template that will pre-populate all the data needed to establish your connect and create the necessary IAM resources within AWS. Select the checkbox at the bottom of the page and then select Create Stack. This will automatically finish the connection process for you. Check back to the Spot console in ~2 minutes to ensure the process completes and you are ready to go to the next step.
